Thursday, October 4: Boston

Today was my last day in Boston and I was sad to be leaving. My father gave me very specific instructions to get him a fitted Red Sox hat and t-shirt that said “Yankees Suck,” he would accept no alternatives. So, I spent the day hunting down those items and picked a few more things up for myself. After all, there’s no such thing as too much Red Sox gear as far as I’m concerned.

That night I hung out with Julie and her boyfriend as well as her cousin Nick and my fiancĂ©, Tony. I gave Nick and his girlfriend some apple pie and they cleaned their plates, literally. There wasn’t a single crumb left as Nick looked at me and said “Wow, that IS some good apple pie!” Another fan, take that Martha Stewart!

I had to break up with Tony though, we just weren’t meant for each other and I just knew I would break his heart. That and he wouldn’t have any pie, WTF! He promised to wine and dine me the next time I was in town and make up for lost time. For now, he’ll just have to be a MySpace friend.

It was hard to leave Julie after we reconnected and we stayed up until four in the morning chatting and looking at old pictures. I promised to make another trip back before my travels end and move to a new place. I love you girl, thanks for making my trip so awesome!

So long Boston, hello New York City.
