I called Yellowstone again today and the roads were still closed and they were expecting even more snow, oh well. I hung out in my room for a little while and then went out and bought another tent, one better suited for the wind and colder weather. Then, off to Snake River Brewery for a hot soup lunch and some good old people watching. They were celebrating Oktoberfest and all of the servers and bartenders were dressed in their best German attire. It was awesome as most of the people were pretty sloshed and it was only noon. Good times.
When I got back to the hotel, I ran into Richie and he said that if I was going to stay for a few more days that he would put me into a new room. I quickly agreed because it seemed like such a waste to have me in a room with two queen beds when it was just me. So, he gave me new keys and I moved all my stuff to a new room…or should I say suite! My new digs has a king-sized bed, two full bathrooms (one with a Jacuzzi tub), a living room complete with a fireplace, a balcony with a view of the mountains and a full kitchen. Sweet ass!!!! I guess it pays to be nice...and I’m sure being cute helps too.
After settling in to my new room, I drove up to Snake River to go for a hike. About 30 minutes into it, it started to snow a lot and I was covered in snowflakes. I love the snow. I headed out to a sports bar with Richie and his friends to watch the Red Sox beat the Indians back at Fenway. There are a bunch of Boston fans out here and it was awesome to watch the game amongst them. Richie’s friends were awesome and they welcomed me into their group right away and told me that I needed to move to Jackson. I guess I really would have to learn to ski then! It was an awesome night and I snuggled into my king bed with the fireplace on…snug as a bug in a rug.
