Sunday, September 30: Boston

Today was another perfect example of time speeding by me. Christian had a birthday party to attend in the afternoon and Julie had a family gathering to attend in the evening. I finally got to meet the other side of Julie’s family and man they were a hoot!!! She forewarned me that they were a wild and crazy bunch and all of my expectations were met, haha. We arrived in the midst of the hustle and bustle where the conversation was flowing freely and no one is guarded about offering their opinions. These are the kind of family gatherings that I love.

I joined the kids outside and threw the football around with Julie’s cousins that were our age, Eric and Tony. I love throwing the ball around, there’s something very relaxing about it and Eric commented that I threw a better spiral than Tony!! I really don’t purposely try to emasculate the boys, but I can’t help it if I’m better than them. LOL.

It must not have hurt Tony’s feelings because he did propose marriage to me later in the evening. I promptly accepted and found myself with a new fiancĂ©. I warned him that men find it hard to keep up with me but he said he was up to the challenge.

It was really funny when the adults realized that I was Julie’s cousin and not just some random friend of hers. They opened the front door and hollered at me “Kelly, I didn’t know you were family!!” Haha, that was awesome. Julie and I joked that I was really just someone off the street that needed a hot meal.

We wrapped up the evening with a big family dinner around the table and more Chinese food than we could consume, but man was it delicious. You don’t get food like that down in south Florida. Good food, friends and family once again. At this rate I’m going to have to roll out Boston and buy bigger jeans. Note to self, do extra crunches.

So there I was with a new extended family and a fiancé. ;)
