September 29: Weymouth Day

I adore Boston. I adore Boston even more after the Red Sox win the A.L. East. I woke up with a big old smile on my face just thinking about it. Today was the Weymouth Day parade and Carnival...also known as the trapped in Weymouth Day. They closed down a lot of the streets around us and diverted traffic on others.

It took me forever too get out of here. Good thing I had my GPS unit because the roads are crazy enough and after being rerouted and turned around a few times, the words "recalculating" were heard often. Finally, finally, finally I arrived at my Great Aunt Edna's house for some friendly banter around the kitchen room table.

Aunt Edna and her daughter Stephanie welcomed me with open arms and made me feel right at home. I'd never met them before, it was awesome to connect with that part of my family. Edna was so funny, and she's been a die hard Red Sox fan forever. She even has a Babe Ruth doll that has to face a certain direction to bring the Sox luck. Too funny. AND she gave me a little present, a Red Sox towel and an Irish Red Sox shirt. She's a woman after my own heart. She loves that I only refer to the Yankees as "the fucking Yankees!"

Julie and I took the T into the city tonight and walked around the city and grabbed a bite. I love this city and had forgotten how much I missed it. I've decided to try and get back here to visit much more often. We're trying to score tickets to the Red Sox game, but Sunday's game is sold out. i told Julie we should just use the tazer on a scalper and get in for free, haha. Actually, we just made a bunch of phone calls...I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Hey!

Just wanted to drop in and say hello. Everybody's on the go today, heheh! Blazin' Hazen and TMonks are on their Wyoming trip, Big Russ is on his way to Chicago for work...

Even I had an adventure of my own. After 18 hours of plodding away, I finally finished Fable earlier this week! Missed a lot of stuff, I'm sure, but I'm done. Man, how sad is it that this is the most "traveling" I have done...

Oh well! Take care, glad you're having an awesome time!

Ken =)

Ola Spec,
Just droppin' a line to say "what's up!?" Hope travels are going well. ...As Ken told you above, I was in Chicago and I completely forgot to call you and see where you were. But considering you were in Boston the day I left, I'm guessing you weren't anywhere close to Illinois last week.

Hope all's well. Take care.
